Thank you to everyone who attended and voted in our 2022 annual homeowners' meeting. We elected board members Christy Allen and Hina Dave this year and enjoyed freshly baked cookies provided by Jennifer Speer. Each year we give out door prizes, including one six-month credit for HOA dues, so be sure to plan on attending next year.
If you were unable to attend, reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request a copy of the meeting's agenda.
There are lots of things you can do to help. Would you be interested in managing the neighborhood directory? Maybe you could keep the website up to date or plan the next neighborhood block party. If you'd like to invest your talents in the interest of our neighborhood, please email us at email@example.com and let us know what you'd like to help with. We appreciate your assistance and willingness to be a working part of our great neighborhood.
The Board founded the Melanie Carr Good Neighbor of the Year Award in 2019, in honor of Melanie's long-time service to the Board and our community, to encourage neighbors to be on the lookout for other neighbors actively exhibiting the character and service of a Good Neighbor throughout the year and nominate them to win this award along with a gift at our annual meeting.
When you notice a neighbor you would like to nominate, please send the nomination any time of year to the Board at firstname.lastname@example.org. We can't wait to hear from you!
We recognized Dennis Cox as the winner of the inaugural Melanie Carr Good Neighbor of the Year Award. Dennis has been a steadfast supporter and volunteer in the neighborhood and served as a Board member for a number of years; he consistently helps neighbors in times of need. He and his family have coordinated and hosted our annual Neighborhood Turkey Trot for over 10 years, and we are grateful for the example he has set as a truly good neighbor.
Congratulations to Jennifer Speer, our 2020 Good Neighbor of the Year recipient. While we normally will not consider active Board members for this award, her nomination came from neighbors who are not Board members and it was compelling:
"This person radiates joy and offers resounding compassion for others - especially to those in our neighborhood. She is quick to reach out to people in both a friendly and caring manner whether they are new neighbors or experiencing major life events. Her heart has an amazing capacity for neighborly love; she is sincere. When I read posts about neighbors being surprised by anonymous acts of kindness, she is the first person who pops into my mind. I'm so grateful we have someone like her in our neighborhood!"
We recognized Carol Arment as our 2021 Good Neighbor of the Year for her outstanding service in assisting the HOA with landscaping recommendations as well as improving the yards of a dozen or more neighbors with the efforts of her business, Containarment.
